2nd lift pump at tank?

Would this be worth doing? I've got a line on a good lift pump from a guy's wrecked '99. Tested at 12 idle-9wot. It's basically free so I was wondering if the 2nd pump acting as a pusher at the tank would help the original on the motor. Also, if the motor pump fails would the tank pump still "push" through to the injection pump?
Thanks.
PS, my injection pump is toast. I didn't want to believe it but now
no doubt. Oh well, it's only money, I'll just go make more...
