285/75R16
285/75R16
Anybody running this dimension on the stock chrome wheels on a 2nd gen 4x4 2500 ?
I am contemplating switching to the Bridgestone DMZ02 as a winter tire. (Since 255/85R16 are very rare, the only tire available is a BF Goodrich MT).
Getting tires registered over here is a PIA and costs about 450US$ per dimension to be registered.
TIA

I'm running 285's on my stock steel wheels ........I beleive they are narrower than the chrome rims (16x6)
[/quote]
As far as I remember mine are 6.5 .....
How do you like the tires, does it ride good etc? Any rubbing and do they stick out from the wheelwell?
Maybe you could post a pic

Re:285/75R16
I think they ride great .......they are right on the edge of the wheel well, I drive a lot of gravel and have found the inner lip on the wheel well is getting chipped pretty bad now as compared to my 245's
I'm thinking about a set of fender flares next
I don't get any rubbing but I did install the skyjacker d25 springs before I bought the 285's, I have been told by others that they fit fine with no lift up front
here's a couple pics

i'm running 285's on factory chrome wheels and am going up to 315's soon. my neighbor is a farmer and runs 315's on his cummins spray pickup so i know they don't rub.

Could you take some pics of the truck with the 285/75s still installed? The pics should show how far the tire sticks out. Maybe another pic where you see that it won't rub with the steering @ full lock.
Over here it's a PIA to get another size of tire put into the vehicle papers. I'd need a proof of consent by the manufacturer of the truck. No way.... won't even get a response.
TIA
