2001 CTD

Hi all, I haven't had a chance to get on the site in ages. It's great to be back on. Been way too busy!!

Anyway, I looked at a potential "new" truck tonight.

2001 2500 q/c slt 4x4 shortbox 5spd.

truck has 181,000 km. (113,000 miles)

I thought it was priced very reasonable.

Truck needs a bit of work, ie. ball joints etc, for safety, dealers taking care of that.
Truck just had injection pump replaced by Cummins (supposedly comes with Warranty)

If I'm going to go for this truck I have to move on it ASAP or I know it will be gone.

Anything in particular to watch for with this truck??

I am most familliar with 12V's.

Thanks for your help guys.

Does it have rear disc brakes? If so then it's what is referred to as
a 2001 1/2 . Lift pumps are a common problem.

must be an early 01, just had regular drum brakes.

Since it had munched the injection pump, I'm guessing the lift pump was probably the culprit.

A FP gauge would definitely be in order.
