1st gen needs help with 2nd gen

does anyone know of a breakdown on the front wheel bearings ECT ECT on a 98 12valve 4x4

some thing like this https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=143024 would be the ticket.

I've never opened 2nd gen style 4x4 in my life. (auto locking hubs)

any info will help

thank you

It is pretty simple. There is no hub assembly as you are used to. It is a big unit bearing. Do a search for wheel bearing or rotor replacement. Basically it goes like this.
1. Break the big nut loose on the axle shaft where your hub selector would be.
2. Raise the vehicle and remove the tire.
3. Remove the brake caliper.
4. Take the 4 bolts loose on the back of the spindle that hold the unit bearing in place. Use a socket and extension against the frame to press the bearing out of the spindle.
5. Bearing is removed along with the brake rotor assembly.

If you've ever taken apart a front hub and bearing assembly on a FWD car it is very similar to that.
