1st genner needs 2nd gen progammer advice

Hey boys, my dad has an 01 3500 dually 4wd, 6spd, used for towing our bobcat around. The only mod he has done is a pacbrake, I think i finally have him talked into a programmer. Nothing to crazy, fuel economy and driveability are #1. Maybe in the 50 horse range, 5ver never exceeds 13,000. any advice is greatly appreciated.

Anything up to 70hp you don't need to tap the pump. 70 and over you need to wire tap the VP44.

There are a few boxes that fall into the 70 and under category.

Edge Ez
Superchips
Smarty
Bulldog Power Puck and a few others.

Smarty is a good choice, but I would go with the XZT+ from Quadzilla. They are $399 & have 3 position toggle for switching power levels on the fly. The first level is stock, 2nd is fuel saver & it does improve mpg!, 3rd is 70hp. I tow 15k# & I have run Edge Drag comp, Superchips, Bullydog, Hypertech, Smarty & the XZT+ was my favorite towing box yet. It has more lowend power for pulling than any of the boxes. The XZT+ has every bit the lowend of Smarty, but cooler egts.
