wide open question

First off, i have a 98.5 with an edge comp (but thats not the prob.) I was hauling a 20 ft goosneck with a bobcat on the back and noticed something today. Ive noticed it before but didnt really pay much attention to it. When i would be pulling a hill at about 1/2 to 3/4 throttle, i would mash it down to the floor and it didnt seem to add any more fuel. While watching my boost gauge, it actually would drop 3 to 4 psi when i would push it to the floor. When i would let the throttle back up to about 1/2 throttle it would come back up again. What would cause this to happen?

see, thats the thing i dont have a fuel pressure gauge, but my IP is fairly new. I replaced it last summer. It did it before and after i replaced it but didnt really pay much attention to it. Next on my list is a FP guage though.

Does it do the same thing with the Edge off?

Too much fuel can quench combustion. Pretty common occurrance for Smarty users, where it is best to roll into the throttle vice stabbing it.

Did you change your lift pump when you did IP? If not than your IP may be toast again if your fuel pressure is not high enough. When you start adding programmers, injectors, etc. you should always get you FP guage hooked up first. If you get a guage hooked up, IMO you should tap in at banjo fitting in feed line at the IP, these are the pressures you need to see: Minimum 10psi at idle, minimum 4psi at WOT.
