i was driving home this morning when the throttle stuck wide open so i let off the pedal and it still did it. after about 10 seconds it quit doing it . now i have real touchy throttle responce i just touch the pedal and its at 2000rpm just like that but it don't stick. i kind of like it now but have no idea what caused this. my guesses are the throttle linkage recall or the 4gsk i installed a month ago. anyone experience this and will it harm the truck

 

Sounds like one or both of your throttle return springs came off or broke.

 

There was a recall on this--your dealer should replace all of it for Free.

Will it hurt the truck? Well let's see....The moment you have it happen in traffic, and find yourself unable to stop, and ram into someone else, or a tree, it WILL hurt the truck, likely you, and possibily someone else. This is a SAFETY ISSUE that is why there was a recall done on it. Take it to your dealer ASAP and let them rectify it for free.

 

i got the same proplem, only mine wont idle down, the revs come down alright, but it dies

 

Recall #970 for the throttle cable only, the old ones would fray and catch.
