17" factory alloys on a 1996-2500

Has anyone tried to use factory 17" alloy wheels on the older trucks. I know there is clearance problems on the drums in the back and also interference problems with steering parts in the front when trying to use factory 16" alloys. I thought that mayby all the clearance problems would be eliminated with the larger size of the 17" wheels. Any info would be appreciated. Thank you

I have then on an 01 4x4. There has been a lot posted on them fitting other trucks. I would think the 17" wheels would clear the rear drums better than the stock 16" wheels.

I paid $500 for mine. Less than the tires alone are worth. Local dealer had 17" steel wheels with Michilans for much less.
