12v into newer gas truck
I'd make sure it has the heavy front springs, it should if it had a v-10, they weigh about the same.
I imagine the fuel delivery system may need mods, don't know if the gassers used the same tanks as Diesel.
Motor mounts and other stuff should be readily available.
Check out the "conversions" section

not sure about the tank sizes..
I have a 1500 ram gas and a 2500 diesel..
but the material in both is plastic.
the gasser might have a intake pump..don't if this pump would handle diesel or not..would great if it did..then you might need to a pressure reducer before the injector pump..I don't know what the 12v injector pumps can handle for input pressures??

Yes it would be nice. It has the 4 doors and its cheap too and rust free. The 98 1/2's some had the 12v with 4 doors but hard to find and the people want an arm and a leg.
Would the gauges in the truck work does anyone know or would I need to replace all that as well? I am gonna put a P7100 pumped 12v in it. Or possible a VE pumped one to make it even easier.
It doesn't have the v10 so I will be changing the front springs for sure.
fuel pump is no issue.
I am just wondering if there is holes on the frame to bolt in the diesel motor mounts? And what electrical stuff i will need to change.
thanks

PCM will need to be changed, if you want the check engine light off, which wouldn't be a direct swap I don't think....2000's had 24v's, and a pcm from that wouldn't work correctly. Trans will obviously need workin on....torque converter and valve body.
If you don't care about CEL, I'm not sure if the gasser pcm would be compatible with the diesel spec'd trans, as far as pressure sensing/governing.

its all the same, same tank same motor mounts. it basically bolts right in. i put a 12v in a single cab short bed half ton. u need the diesel fuel lines and sending unit and wiring harness. if u have a donor truck its not that bad
Indeed it is a very nice combo.
In my experience, unless someone knows how rare the combination is and they are selling it to someone who they know is looking for that specific combo, then its just another Dodge Cummins.

I would start with a PCM from a 96 or 97 diesel truck. They used a JTEC PCM that will plug right in to the wiring that the 2000 truck has. It will be simpler if you use a manual transmission, but computer-wise it should be doable anyway.
andy505----yes you are correct on that. and finding someone that doesn't know and the truck you really want isn't easy. it sounds like it would be just easier to make your own like i am going to just end up doing.
Sweet!!!! I am deff going to go this route!! I will be useing the auto trans from a 97 dodge that comes with the engine. and get a pcm and wiring harness for it also.
thanks,
guys
