#10 plate cooling?

hey im putting a #10 plate in my truck pretty soon and i was wondering what i would need to do to keep the egts close to stock since i tow and dont want to stare at my egt gauge all the time. my truck is a 1996 manual with everything stock except a 5" straight pipe and a BHAF. any advice would be great. i also will be adding a 3K GSK at the same time

Keep the EGT's close to stock? Don't put the plate any further ahead than the stock location.. ANY more fuel and you have higher EGT's so you won't get more power for nothing. If you do get the plate, make sure you get the boost elbow to go with it. I know alot of cheap kits out on EBAY that don't have all the stuff in the bag you get from a reputable dealer.

Expect your EGT's not to be stock..

The reason I use a #10 is so I don't have to stare at the pyro all the time while towing.
You'll still have to watch it even in the stock position on hills with a load but if you didn't it wouldn't be much different from stock.

I would recommend TST Products for the kit, but that's just me...

TST are the ones who first came out with custom plates. Anyone selling them with numbers is copying TST's designs.
Personally I like giving credit ($$$) where it's due to the inventors of the products we use.

You might consider advancing your injection timing. That will give you a slight EGT reduction in addition to other benefits.
