Your Truck Is Smoking!!!!!!!!!

two weekends ago, i removed the puke bottle and tube, and rerouted it back to the transmission crossmember and it hangs down a couple of inches behind it. while i was on base last week, i was going to get a haircut, and i was sitting and ideling for a couple of minutes listening to a song, when this dude ran up and yelled "Your truck is smoking or it might be on fire!!" i immediately got out, extremely worried and was crawling around mind boggled. he said "you dont see it?" and he pointed to the hose. i started laughing. there was just a tiny bit of smoke coming out from the engine, just the norm. i kind of like it. it reminds me of our backhoes and tractors. it reminds me that i have a real diesel under the hood. anyhoo, it wasnt real funny, but i thought so.

Ive had several people knock on my door over the last 3 yrs to tell me something is wrong with my truck or it might be on fire. Its usually only in the winter time this happen haha. People see the slightest bit of smoke and they ask me whats wrong with my truck. My neighbor has a 95 and gets the same craps as i do . I cant do anything but laugh when it happens and the person looks at me like im an Edit.

Along the lines of the puke botle. COuple days ago i went under the front to see how i might be able to attach some hooks to the front and i saw oil all over the front of the engine. Needless to say i was a little worried. I started looking and remebered the puke botle and that periodically your suppose to empty it. Read in the 2 months ive owned the rig havnt checked it. SO i pull it out it caked in old oil and im looking at it and who ever had the rig before me drilled a number of holes in it so it would just drain out the front. Leaving me a messy front end. Any way its now routed out and to the ground.

Robins, the puke bottle is suppose to have holes in it. I would imagine so it can vent or over flow if there is alot of blowby. The puke bottle in my truck has holes in it too.

What's the puke bottle? I don't have leaks but I do have plenty of oil all over my engine and underside.

This has got to be something one may need on a Saturday morning after a nice happy hour on Friday since nothing like this is installed on my truck! And having oil down there prevents it from rusting

I'm headed to the scrap yard to find an old Ford washer bottle with the built in mounting bracket and raiding the bathroom for something to suck up the oil
(Kotex maybe). I'm tired of living with oil ALL over the underside of my Ram.
I thought the rear seal was bad, wrong, it's getting RRed @ 265K because of the NV600 is getting rebuilt (the seal was dry, thank you Cummins).
