Are your batteries corroded?
Don't make the mistake I did and say, 'oh, it still works. it's fine.'
Replace them! Omg, this is a pita. I'm not sure my electrical gremlins are connected to how long (over a year) I ran corroded terminals but gees, this is compiling! Both my positive terminals are frozen up and I can't undo them, going to try baking soda and warm water again. Even the battery mount screws were corroded. My wipers, low voltage at idle, my oil pressure gauge and now my lift pump(
) are all acting up. I'm swapping in my spare lift pump, cleaning all my grounds and hoping the oil pressure sender chills out.
speaking of which - where on the left fender is the ground? Can't find it, but I also don't have the batteries out.

When your back to tip top shape, coat the terminals with dielectric grease. It'll keep them in top shape. Don't forget to rub a little on BEFORE you set the cables on so you get the bottom side and the insides if the clamping part.
Napa has a great product-dont remember the name its by the batteries and is about 6-7 dollars. Its a terminal corrosion preventer and is like a red paint. Been good with nothing for 6 months
Wallyworld sells the red & green round felt washers for a buck. I think some kits also have a little spray bottle of the red stuff to spray the terminals.
It is also important to keep the tops of the batteries clean, say once a month, on all vehicles. The dirt will help charge down.
Good luck getting out te gremlins!

I hope you change your own oil. If so, then is a good time to clean battery posts, clean air filter, check belt for cracks/wear, hoses for softness, etc..
Since you left your posts corroded for such a long time, you need to look at the cables that attach to the posts. Inspect them for discollored or "bubbled" rubber. If one of these is present, you need to pull back the rubber nd see if your cables are white/powdery or green. This is where you are going to have the biggest restriction and therefore the most voltage drop. I haven't replaced them, but I'll bet those cable assemblies are **** expensive.

Battery corrosion can be helped by using the proper tools to pull the battery terminals. The corrosion is the result of acit that can leak between the post and the case of the battery. Using a terminal puller instead of a screwdriver can help preserve this trouble spot. Next, there are pliers/spreaders that are specific to opening the terminal clamp. Beyond that, all of the solutions offered, such as dielectric grease, paint, felt washers, are also a good preventitive. This is because even if you use the special tools, the case and the post are subject to climate.
