Wire/Fuse thing from Goerend?

Hello,

Just received my HP Valve Body and 1-2 anchor strap and all that fun stuff from Dave this morning. Was looking through the box obviously and noticed he gave me a wire/fuse thing to put between two wires from the PCM...what is this wire for??

Thanks

Dinner

It's called the VBA, Valve Body Assistant-It doesn't let the computer see too much pressure and go into "limp" mode.

When you get a VB from dave, does he give you instructions of some sort that go over adjustments after install?

Or is it as simple as installing it and not having to adjust pressure (on the VB itself) for shifting like the BD VB?

It comes with directions, you need to be sure your kickdown is set properly and the band is adjusted properly. The line pressure is set up by Dave.

He will send you pictures that have directions on them. And it explains that you should adjust the kickdown as well.

hmmm interesting. Is this optional or a standard part included in custom valve bodies?

I'm not to sure, however Dave sends it to you whenever you order a VB from him. I didn't know this until i opened the box..and a sheet of paper was folded in half, and had a sticky note on it saying "look inside!" and so I opened it and there was the resistor taped to a sheet of paper that had the instructions on it.

Dave used a zenner diode in the past, lately he has been shipping the VBA. I am not sure if it is for all cases or just some.

before he shipped the diode, with an in line fuse holder with it.you put the diode in series on one of the harness wires at the pcm..he had you put the in line fuse holder in parallel with the diode but not put fuse in it.this way,if the diode failed, you could stick a fuse in the holder so you could get home with it...i dont know what he uses now though.........bama
