what could this be??

Hopefully I posted this in the correct forum. 2001 4x4 2500 Ram 202k miles with the cummins. Thought I had a brake issue but don't think so any more. When is get on the brake the truck wobbles and sort of acts like it is going down the road sort of side ways. I also get the same feeling if I get on the accelerator real hard for a few seconds and left off it gives the same wobble. What do you think? But is real strange feeling when I drive it as well, like it wanders around a little???

front wheel bearings

What is the best way to check the front wheel bearings? Probably a stupid question but I want to make sure I check correctly.

I would jack up the front end and spin the wheels by hand, checking for noise. Also check for side to side (or top to bottom) play.
150,000 to 250,000 is, from my experience, normal maintenance for many CTD items... Wheel bearings, u-joints, ball joints, carrier bearings, pinion and axle seals, track bars, etc. Any or all can start acting up, depending on usage.

Checking for noise on the wheel bearings may not always work. Mine never made a sound. Noticed my camber way out Sunday afternoon, jacked it up to check vertical play and decided to park it immediately. About a couple of inches of wobble. There was never any "physical feeling" of failure. It just went!
