Went for a drive...... $123 later ........

Injection Pump number 3 just took the Big Dirt Nap.

Same symptoms, driving along minding my own business in the fast lane at 60 mph, engine dies like someone hit a light switch.
Thank goodness there was light traffic, and a break down lane in the construction area on the right shoulder that I juuuust made it into coasting.
An hour on the side of the road with Wifey (she was NOT a happy camper) $123 Tow Truck bill, and we're back home.
This was Industrial Injection HR Pump number 2....
This time, I never connected the pump wire to the Edge Comp, on ran in EZ Mode.....still only lasted a year and a half.

I'll be ording a Blue Chip Diesel pump on Monday unless someone has a better pump vendor.

Not sure at this point, engine still cranks, 20 psi fuel pressure, cracked 3 injector lines, getting fuel only on cylinder number 3.
Sounds like the rotor might have seized.
I had a "Stealth Cover" on the pump when the 1st two pumps died.

This is ONE WEEK after getting it back from the dealer to repair a loose tone ring on the crankshaft and a $1300 bill.

How about a p-pump conversion? They are getting alot more common now and parts for the swap can be had fairly cheap.

At only 138,000 miles she should be just getting "broken in".

My plan was to keep the truck running for a few more years, and replace my
'98 Harley "Geezer-Glide" this year............

I think the truck is jealous because I've been driving the '86 Aries back and forth to work, and for in-town errands since December.........

Glacier Diesel Walbro lift pump.
None of my Injection Pumps have ever seen under 10 psi with the engine running. (Full time mechanical fuel pressure gauge since January 2000.)
Have 20 psi right now for a full 30 seconds after "Bumping" the starter.

Wow not a good Industrial Injection experience. Hope they can give you some input on why they are failing.

New Blue Chip Diesel Pump will be here Wednesday.
According to Chip Fisher, it's the last one I should have to change.

At two grand a pop, I hope he's right............
