Water pump went
I hope these are no more difficult to replace than the 1st gen. Biggest problem with the 1st gen was snaking the pump around the fan and shroud, but it was doable.
Easier (almost) than the 1st gen. I didn't have to snake the pump out between the fan blades. The harder part was the new belt. Seemed like there was less room to get my big arms down in there. Finally got it though. The worst part was all the oil from the breather, and the leaked antifreeze. I hate getting dirty working on anything!
The oil breather catch bottle is just a mess waiting to happen.
Lots of people I know extend it down into their frame rail as a automatic oil undercoating system.
You can even switch frame sides every once in a while to scare off the rust on the other side of the frame.

My wife could change the pump in less than 5 minutes,
pulling the fan belt and re installing a new one takes would take her 10 minutes.
A guy good with tools, less. Without question the easiest thing to fix on our trucks.
