Going on a hunting trip which is a 24 hour drive to the middle of nowhere. Was thinking of changing my waterpump as preventative maintenance since the truck now has 380 000 kms on original pump. Spend the 300 or take the chance?

 

300 for a water pump? you can change it 30 min. I would leave it and if your worried take one with and a couple tools like a 3/8 or 1/2" braker bar and a 10mm wrench. its real easy to change

 

Yup $300 from cummins. I guess what I am wondering is how long I can expect it to last. If a lot go around this mileage then I may change it or as u said buy it and be ready on case.

 

Rebal WoW me to on that cost but I think Bill is talking conadion. Sorry wish I spell better. Bill you can get that water pump alot more reasonable at NAPA or your local auto parts store

 

I replaced mine with a NEW pump from pepboys <$80.00. Took about 20 min.. easy 1. loosen belt. 2. 2 bolts hold the pump on. Do it before you leave because it will be on your mind the whole trip.

In US is more like $50.00 at parts store. What a awaking!!!

 

My supervisor paid shop $450...he got shafted big time.
