I dont think anyone can give you that answer. Pumps fail for many reasons. Poor maintenance is the main cause. Fate is the other.

There's no set time.
I rebuilt my 12v engine last month, so I decided to change out a perfectly good water pump just 'cause I had it apart. It had 160k on it and still fine, so I'll keep it as a spare.

My friend's '03 crapped the water pump at 50k miles. Go figure.

I have 201,000 on my OEM pump. Same for the thermostat. Seems fine so far.

the reason asked, every once in a while i can smell antifreeze when i shut it off...... no its not dripping, I'm not losing any coolant. so at this point I'm just waiting for 1 the water pump, 2 heater core, 3 head gasket or something else to start squirting....... then I'll know.
i just noticed under the exhaust manifold toward the rear some stains that could have been caused by coolant

OEM orginal water pump here with 497,000Kms on it, at the end of last winter I had the same thing, stink of AF, but it was in the cab, mostly noticed when the heater was on high heat, and when you get in the truck, turned out to be a pin hole in the heater core, never added coolant, and it had been doing this for 6months previous, I delayed fixing it cause it was tooo cold and I could not have my truck down, at the time.
my evaporator was plugged solid with fluff and dirt, after cleaning it I have huge amounts of air flow now, did not realize at the time how bad it actually was
