Waste Gate Trouble on 2001 on Dodge 2500
I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins Diesel waste gate was sticking causing a loss of power on take off. I'm looking for an easy fix. Has anyone experienced this and how did you fix it?
Sorry. Just updated it. It is a 2001 2500 auto 4x4 long bed ext cab. The problem is when i get in it and start it then take off and give some throttle to get into traffic it lags. The rpms will move up slowly and feels like there is no power. After driving a mile or so it will take off and drive fine. It doesnt feel like the trans is slipping. Feels more like a fuel or boost problem. Im not sure where to start. Any ideas?
sounds like dead pedal needs a injection pump same thing happened to me would start the truck would have no power for the first mile or so then would just start driving normal changed injection pump problem gone sorry they ain't cheap either good luck.
The best starting place is to retrieve the codes.
you can do this by cycling the key three times to on and and watching the odo window. write them down and get back to us. It could be a VP-44 injection pump and or the APPS.
