Waste Gate Trouble on 2001 on Dodge 2500

I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 Cummins Diesel waste gate was sticking causing a loss of power on take off. I'm looking for an easy fix. Has anyone experienced this and how did you fix it?

Fill out your signature so we know what you are driving. Because if you have an automatic tranny it's not your wastegate but Torque Management that's slowing you down....

Sorry. Just updated it. It is a 2001 2500 auto 4x4 long bed ext cab. The problem is when i get in it and start it then take off and give some throttle to get into traffic it lags. The rpms will move up slowly and feels like there is no power. After driving a mile or so it will take off and drive fine. It doesnt feel like the trans is slipping. Feels more like a fuel or boost problem. Im not sure where to start. Any ideas?

The best starting place is to retrieve the codes.
you can do this by cycling the key three times to on and and watching the odo window. write them down and get back to us. It could be a VP-44 injection pump and or the APPS.

I've already tried the APPS and didn't make a difference. I'll try cycling the key to see what that does.

I think that number says there are other codes set. Did you let it time out? It will go back to the odometer.
Codes 0216, 1688 and 1689 are vp codes.
