Wait to start light

My wait to start light does not come on when I turn the key. Some times I have to turn the switch off and on 3 or 4 times to get it to work. It seem to be worse when the engine is warm. Thanks for the help in advance. I know this has been addressed before but I can' find the answer.

Thanks

if your engine is warm then WTS light will be on only for a short time.

I am aware of the short time the light stays on but it is not coming on at all.

Unplug the batterys (ECM) for an hour. See if that resets the ECM. No wait to start light or a really short wait to start light on a cold engine could be an ECM issue. Hardware, not software.

Yes it starts fine when cold and starts fine once the light comes on and goes off. The wait to start time on the cold engine is longer on the cold engine than the warm engine.

thanks

I am wondering if you may have an iginition switch going bad.

You have eliminated a burned out bulb.

Do the grid heaters cycle as they should this time of year? You can watch the voltage guage to tell, it'll drop to the left then come back up to14 and go back to the left after a few second. (Sorry if you already know this)
