I have a 1998 24V truck. It is doing the same thing. It will not start until the wait to start light comes on. For some reason my wait to start light does not come on for about 5 full seconds now. It used to come on right away. Last time this happened, my lifter pump went out. Is this a sign that it is happening again?

Good idea! My information is in my signature. Any ideas? Where can I buy one of the lift pump pressure guages, the one that has a warning light you can put in the cab?

I wouldnt get too excited about it until you get the gauges installed. But that is a most do as soon as possible. Mine takes a little longer when its colder outside.

im having the same problem. it dont think it is fuel pressure but i need to check it. it seems that the wait to start light cycles the fuel pumps to prime and then it will crank. but if the wait to start light doesnt come on it just turns over with nothing.
