valve adjustment and injector install

Truck just hit 200k and so i thought it would be a good time to run the overhead and put a new set of injectors in. Went with a set of Mach 1.6's got them at a pretty good deal. im gonna do the job myself my question to yall is is there a hole in the flywheel housing to put a turning tool in or do i have to turn the engine over with a socket and ratchet on the dampener or with a chain wrench? Just wondering

Matt

A lot of people put a wrench on the alternator and turn over the engine that way - I think you have to turn it backwards. The tool you are referring to is a barring tool. I believe it uses the starter teeth on the flywheel.

I personally use a fan wrench (36 MM Fan Wrench) can be used and turn the engine over that way. You can only turn in oposite direction of rotation but the engine doesn't care. Just remember to always remove the wrench before starting engine.

Barring tool here

I pull the breather off the front engine cover, put a socket and a breaker bar on and turn it over with the fuel pump nut. Only go the direction that would tighten it, though, as you will loosen the nut off.
