unfamiliar noise on shut down????
Alright I had a red99ctd, I moved out out of country and had to sell. Now I have a Blue 2002 CTD. So this one has started making a chirpping noise on shut down. idles good and smooth, turn key off and it does its little shimmy shake and chirp chirp. Then done. What causes and or makes that noise? How do I fix it and or prevent it?

Chip is caused by the inertia in the accessory's causing them to want to turn when the crank has stop almost instantly due to the high compression. The belts slips so. If you search the issue you will find recommendations for belts that will help reduce the issue.

Ditto on normal condition, but you can check the tensioner and make sure it not near bottomed out. Also see if belt is running outside o tensioner pulley. This indicates tensioner is worn out. The Gatorback generally fixes if everything is up to snuff..
