Truck just got towed. Need advice.

Truck has been running great all day -- doing errands, hauled a few tractors around town. After I loaded the trailer for the last time of the day, truck would not start. All I hear was a click. Tried turning the key a few more times but no luck. I let the truck sat for a few minutes and turned the key once more and the check engine light came on. The odometer also showed "No Bus" and truck still wont start. So I finally decided to get the truck towed since it was getting dark and I have no clue as what I can do to get it started. I actually tried tapping the starter with a hammer but did not work. It just sucked really bad since I have 4 pulling tractors in the trailer that I need to bring back home.

What do you think the problem is? I'm thinking some sort of a computer / electrical issue. Like I said, truck ran great all day and all of a sudden I get nothing .

Please let me know what I can expect the repair shop to tell me what the problem is. Thank you.

Sounds like your starter contacts are worn if it was making a "click" sounds when you turned the key. Mine did that more and more until I couldn't start it for minutes at a time. Here, look for the "supersize starter contacts $22.95", http://www.fostertruck.com/dodge/default.htm

bought a set and installed them in mine, then 3 weeks later same thing happened in a buddies truck and fixed his too.

thx for the reply. I dont have any experience removing a starter. How difficult is it to remove one? Any instructions or tips is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

By the way, that "No Bus" on the dash message and check engine light, does this mean there are other problems?

No bus is likely wiring at the connection behind the dash. Do a search here for No Bus, should pop up quickly, I would figure that out before I pulled starter.
