Just had my truck towed in..
the front hub went out, no warning, driving along fine then all of sudden a loud grinding noise, abs & brake lights kick on and the truck gets hard to steer before I get it slowed down! What should I have checked out while it is in the shop?
I had the same thing happen to me 2 weeks ago in San Antonio. I limped the truck off the interstate and replaced the hub in a BBQ parking lot on the side of the road. After finding a ride to the local Napa, I had the truck running again in a few hours.
Ask them to check the rotor/ brake pads, because on mine, a bearing seal went out and "jumped" in btwn my rotor and pads ( I still have to have that rotor turned...) Since they will be taking all of that good stuff off anyway, have them check the ball joints. Other than that, you should be alright with just a new hub.

Thanks, every thing looks good so I may have it back this evening. They thought they had found me a great savings on the hub until they were delivered and none of them had the ABS sensor.
Check out www.quad4x4.com They had a good deal on hubs and you could either get them with or with out the tools and to do the hub replacement yourself. I got the one w/o the tools and they still sent a video on how to replace it.
