Truck died
Truck died
I was driving down the road at full throttle and it just died. The truck will crank but not fire at all. No smoke out of the exhaust. I have fuel to the injectors. These are the codes I got P0237-dead petal, P0251-Cp3 pump regulator control, P0252 Injection pump metering control, P0382 Intake air heater relay #2 control and P01693
Where you find those code list:
P0237 Turbocharger Boost Pressure Sensor Low
P0251 Fuel Injection Pump Mechanical Failure Fuel Valve Feedback Circuit
P0252 Injection Pump Fuel Metering Control "A" Range/Performance
P0382 Intake Air Heater #2 Control circuit
and P1693?

No 1.
check the spark plugs..

O.K. now that was funny right there.
Hmm. I'm no mechanic, but, I would check the following.
1. check the lift pump to see if it failed. (fuel pressure, fuses)
2. check the injector pump. (fuel pressure )
Maybe between the two, there isn't enough fuel and the truck senses it.
3. Check the ECM. If these codes exist, I would not them down and clear the
codes. Beware, the codes came from something. I would clear them only
knowing something might be wrong and you might not want to drive the
truck til you are sure what these codes mean.
4. Upon clearing the codes, the truck might start. Still be aware of the
the cause.
5. The reason why the heating element threw a code is possibly the truck
has to have all items functional. If one item fails, sometimes a false code is tripped. Check the heater for failure as well.
Check check check.
I hope this helps..
