Transmission Pan Magnet???

I am just amout ready to put my new aluminum pan on that i purchased from DPP. Question is that my old steel pan had a magnet stuck over a dimple on the bottom corner. What do you do or how do you make the magnet work in the aluminum pan? I am sure if i just put it on the bottom that it will bounce or get sloshed up to dsomething steel and stick there and not do its job. any input would be great.

I just sanded both surfaces with 50 grit/wiped with a degreaser, and epoxyed it to the botom of the pan. Hope its still there when I drop the pan this spring

nitrousn,

Just an FYI, the PML pan you got from us has a magnetic drain plug in it, just wanted to make sure you knew. As far as the magnetic strip, we epoxy to the aluminum intakes we use in our race car all the time, so that should work.

Well the pan is on. fit real nice. let it drain overnight. changed the filter and adjusted the bands. with the new pan it took a total of 8 quarts to fill it. any one that wants a new deep pan pm mark craig here or go to the DPP website and order one up. nice pan for the money.
