Transmission lines
Transmission lines
I was former GM truck fan before driving a Cummins powered Ram so
I am used to the lay out of GM trucks. I now have a 01 CTD that I want to
install my trans temp sensor in the line going from the trans to the cooler.
I was wondering which one is the line out of the trans and which is the return? I know it is kind of a dumb question but it will save me some time.
I plan to plumb the sensor into the line using a tee and compression fittings.
Any comments or suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks
Tim

The "hot" line comes out of the driver's side of the trans, crosses under the bellhousing, and connects to the heat exchanger <looks like a cylinder on its side with two lines connecting from underneath> on the passenger's side of the engine.
