Is there anyway to swap a trans from a 97 to a 99?

 

Should be a straight bolt in, NV 4500 will have a different shifter top, use the setup from the 97 or take the top plate off the 99.

 

how about autos both trucks are autos the 97 trans onto the 99

 

Pretty sure 97-99 Auto is a straight bolt in, believe it was 2000 that they changed a few of the internal electronics, still a straight bolt in, but I believe you have to add a resistor to the Trans Temp circuit.

Do a search for it on here, it has been discussed, or perhaps whoever did the swap can chime in with a few more specifics.
