A couple of days ago I had my tranny upgraded with a new BD Valve Body and Torque Converter. The first time I drove the truck after picking it up the check engine light came on. Some starts the truck was sluggish. First thought and fear was the lift pump. However, not all starts are sluggish. I cycled the key 3 times and got codes 1693 and 1763. I read that 1763 is a over pressure code that causes the trans to go into limp mode. Is this permanent? Will I damage anything if I have to drive the truck for a day or two until I get it back to the shop that installed the VB and TC?

 

One other question. Is there a way to reset the trans until I can get it back to the shop in a couple of days?

The higher pressure of the valve body is probably setting the code. Call BD and see what they say. There is a resister you can install to make sure the computer does not "see" the higher line pressure. They should have sent you one or told you about it at least.

 

I called the shop today that did the work. They said to bring it in tomorrow and they will adjust it while I wait.
