Question Tranny Cooling Line

I have this part number for a replacement line to the tranny cooler.
Dodge Part # 5011244AA

I want to know if anyone has installed this, and exactly which line it is. I need the line that goes from the tranny to the heat exchanger on the right side of the engine. I'm hoping this is the correct PN for that line, with a fitting built in for a temp sender.

Thanks,
Chris

Pretty sure that is the right part#.

I had mine installed, and didn't see how or where they installed that.
I know they lost 1 quart of fluid doing it though.

It should be about $106 from Dodge.

Did a quick search, and that # comes up in a bunch of threads about tranny temp.

Here's a thread with a lot of info
(including some posts by you I believe)

It's really easy to change. I wish I had some pics of where it went. As soon as you get the line and look under the truck, you'll know instantly where it goes.

Oh, I know where I hope it goes. BillG's pics confirmed it. I have just been under there trying to fix the connection to the heat exchanger which has decided to leake like a sieve. I slowed it down to a seap, but need to replace the line, I guess. I could see no cracks or burs on either side of the union.

Thanks,
Chris

I almost forgot. I think there is a check valve in the rubber hose part of the line you are ordering. You need to pull it out because there is a check valve in the cooler you are tying into on the side of your truck. There will be too much backpressure for the up-graded trannys.

Bill,
There's a rubber hose in the line???????????? I thought this was factory Dodge stuff, to run in the same place I have steel now, with a place for my sending unit. I ordered it though my Dad's shop today. 86 and change. I will pick it up tomorrow and take pics of it.

There is a small section of hydraulic hose on the end that goes to the cooler. There could be a check valve in there. If you shake the end you will hear it, if it's in there. The end at the transmission is all metal and has a place for the sensor.

Oh heck. I now wonder if this is the correct hose again. I don't need one going to the cooler. I need the one going form the tranny, under the engine, and up to the heat exhanger. I thought that's what the pic on your gallery was of.

Sorry that was my typo, it does go to the heat exchanger. You got the right one. The hydraulic part of the line is only about a foot long. It looks like it is there to absorb vibration. When I put mine in everything fit perfect including the sensor (didn’t need any adapters).
