trans guage mount (cooling line/pan)

where is the "correct" place to mount trans line probe??? any special fittings needed??.. thanks....

I bought the trans line with sender port from www.massdiesel.com. Installed in about 15 minutes. You can see it in my pics in my sig.

It's a tough question. I dug into this before installing mind. Everyone said the cooler line was best. Others the pan best.

When I asked ATS, the makers of the triple lock converter and whatnot...they said the first choice was the pan. The 2nd was a test port, I forget which one, I could look.

They didn't like the cooler line. Short version in my own words, they don't care what the temp of the hottest fluid is. It's going off to the cooler. They care about the pan temp, the temp of the fluid that's going into the trans.

This made sense, but I went with the test port, it was easy, it seems to work well. Moves around plenty and all that.
