i finally found that the track bar ball joint was the reason i had the DW. so my question is, do i have to replace the whole bar or can i press a new joint in?

There is a lukes link type replacement, but nothing that is exactly the same joint without replacing the bar.

It will work perfectly. I just installed mine yesterday and the entire process took about 2 hours taking your time. Id say the hardest part was actually getting the front of the truck on jackstands and removing/reinstalling the trackbar.

well i thought the track bar was the cause of the death wobble. I Installed the lukes link yesterday and it didnt do a thing for the dw.

If your trac bar was shot you've got other problems in the front end. Ball joints and tie rod ends come to mind. Check the toe and alignment. Worse case: steering box.

I put the Lukes Link on mine several years ago. I have detailed pics in my photo album. No problems with it at all so far.

Dodge did release a revised alignment spec to increase the front toe setting. I believe they released it late of 2003 when I was a tech at a dodge dealer.
