2001 Dodge Ram Quad Cab. Transmission seems to shift beatifully in all gears but the torque convertor doesn't lock up in any gear. RPMs seem to be high at 65 mph the engine rpms are about 1800. The fuel economy is about 12 city and highway its about 17mph at about 60mph. None of the gears are locking up. Is this solenoid in the trans problem or could it be a simple software upgrade. A guidance would be great. Fluid level is normal and not burnt.:

 

i dont know the answer to your question but i just got my truck and i was wondering how do you tell when its locking?

 

There are several perameters that the pcm must see before it allows lock up. Is the motor getting up to temperature. If not that could be an issue. It would be best to get the tranny scanned for codes and have the actuator tests done.
