Torque convertor lock up?
Probably a stupid question, but how do I know if my Torque convertor is locking up correctly or slipping? It doesn't even feel like it locks up on my truck. I know probably a stupid question .

hey buddy dont be hard on urself there is no such thing as a stupid ?. but i noticed you didnt have any replied so im bumpin this one back up for ya too. but all i can tell you is if your TC is lockin up right you should feel and see a major drom in rmp about 700rpm if im right and it should feel real strong. if its not really strong then it may be slipping but even then in lockup there should be no slip at all because lockup means straight through power. no clutch involved. so thats my 2cents and we'll see what the others have to say.

An easy way to check on your TC is to give a little more peddle. The engine RPM will stay the same if the TC is locked up. You will feel it lugging. I'm new to this also.

Well I'm no expert for sure. The simplest explanation I have seen is http://auto.howstuffworks.com/torque-converter1.htm .
04.5 48re will lock the Torque Converter in 3rd gear, then unlock shift to OD and immediately or soon lock the Torque Converter again on sustained throttle. When the Torque Converter locks up, especially in OD, the sudden additional load on the engine will typically drop the rpms 300-600 depending on throttle acceleration. The lockup feels like another gear shift and is typically the most notable or hardest feeling "shift". Just my .02.
