Throttle Position Sensor or Transmission Problem? `
if you opt for a new trans you'll just have the same problem just with a more expensive tranny, believe me i called Suncoast and was gonna do the same and this is what they told me was do their fix which is posted on their web page (ground wire from pcm to the radio ground under the dash) I started with battery terminals and it cleared mine right up.
I cleaned battery terminals and problem was gone..... since I also did a fluid/filter service and today I cleaned the ground terminals mentioned above. To me the noise filter and wrap is a bandaid over the "real" issue?????
Mine worked great for as long as I owned it, a year and a half, and 2 weeks ago was havin an issue....... still tryin the cheap/free tricks before I step up to a new trans......

i'm trying to find the PCM ground connection on the firewall... followed one ground from battery to bolt next to airbox, but the other enters a cluster below the PCM and continues along firewall to other side of truck. am i missing something? do you know where i can find a diagram of these parts etc....
I'll try to get a picture of it for you. In the mean time, you are right, it is on the firewall, on the right hand side. The ground wire for it is on the PCM's right hand side as you are looking at it from the front. The ground wire is black in color and was flat shaped with 2 eye terminal on it. And it was roughly 1 foot long.
GO FIGURE MINES BACK AGAINI AM CURRENTLY DOING ALL THE GROUNDS RIGHT AS I WRITE THIS SO ILL FIND OUT ON THE WAY TO WORK IF IT WORKS. AS OF NOW IVE DONE EVERYTHING EXCEPT FOR THE SUNCOAST TRICK, BUT MY QUESTION IS WHERE THE HECK IS THE DASH GROUND LOCATED? IVE HEARD ITS THE STRONGEST GROUND ON THE TRUCK? THE NEXT STEP... SET FIRE AND CLAIM ON INSURANCE
The strongest ground? Not very likely. It's most likely the cleanest since it is INSIDE the cabin. I don't know where it's located.
The best ground is the negative terminal on the batteries, but it is not very practical to run every single ground wire to them. Which is why they use the vehicle frame to interconnect the grounds, which go to the negative terminals. The best solution to most ground issues to to make sure that all connections (including the wire) are free of corrosion, clean, and fastened tight.
