Aggie:
I paid 11.99 for a 180o at O Reilly in Harrison Arkansas this week. Dont know if there is a difference between cummins and any other one. This still did not solve the overheating problem. I will have to have the rad flushed.

There is a big difference. Have heard many that tried the NAPA 180* with poor results. I know no memebers trying the Cummins that were not very satisfied!
You may still need the rad flush...depending on how long it's been, but try the Cummins T-stat first... for a good comparison test!

Did you look at the front of the radiator? Because of the blow-by bottle, oil residue gets on the FRONT of the radiator, and plugs it up. Use a good degreaser (simple green) soak it down, let it sit, and wash the crap out of it.
Well, I'm impressed with the 180*. Hauled more hay this weekend, but it was all short loads (lots of starts/stops/speed changes). I only went over 190 once and that was a pretty warm run on the EGT side. Otherwise the temps stayed in check. With the 190, I would have seen 200+ doing the same things, especially with the slower speeds cutting down on air pushing through the rad.
