How often should I use the fuel/water separator lever on the fuel filter and how long do I hold it open (Truck running or not running). I know the idea is to get the water out of the bottom of the filter housing but how do you know how long to hold it open (you can't see what's coming out)???
Thanks, Bill
Thanks, Bill
Hi Bill:
If you must do it, do it when you are about to change your fuel filter. But be prepared to have a leak (posible)
other wise only do it if you get the water in fuel light.
When you change your fuel filter, it is good to drain the housing and wipe it out with a clean soft cloth. (Recomended in the shop manual)
Did you get your fuel pressure gauge yet???
