Tamper Proof Torx
Why do some Pump covers have the regular 6-point Torx {non-tamper proof,IE:1998-2000 Trucks} and the 2001-2002 have the 5-point tamper proof torx on them? And how hard can it be to get the dang bit for those..i looked everywhere because i lost mine, now no-one knows what i'm talking about..
it's still 5-star ...even if you take the post out.Luckily a local diesel shop had a bit, and claimed it was an "emmisions" only torx bit and no-one is allowed to own one except for them ...hehe..riiight.
You can buy them from McMastercarr.com too.
Funny...I had a stereo shop try to tell me that the little "U" brackets for disengaging a Ford stereo were controlled items too. $2.49 at Autozone..

The 5-star tamper proof torx found on the Bosch pumps is different than regular 6-star tamper proof torx that you can find anywhere else.
Injection shops are the only places I have found that have these 5-star bits (PDR and Blue Chip sell them). I lost mine too while working on a 12v P7100.
