Did I "Tamper" ??

So I turned the power screw (the one at the rear of the pump just above the shut-off soliniod)in a bit,but now I have some questions.

It is a newly rebuilt pump with warranty,I turned it 1/2 a turn untill it contacted the tamper collar,I did NOT remove the collar, does this void the warranty?

Being that I only got 1/2 a turn out of it,did I change much?I know I got some,I can feel it,and my boost is now 20 rather than 17psi.

is there any risk of a leak from the threads of the screw?or is there even any fuel there?

thanx so much.

Normally there is some form of paint on pumps that have been rebuilt or even new.
If there is some and you've broken it, then they may give you a bad time if you have "warranty trouble" with it.
Normally though, you shouldn't have any problems if you've only tweaked it a tad as you describe.
The screw has an o-ring on it and it should not leak if it's a new pump.

With a small centerpunch and hammer, a few taps right at the joint of the Puzzle-like tamper collar should open it up nicely. If you take it easy, you should be able to reinstall it if needed. Mine wasn't damaged when we I removed it today and could be reused if I needed to...which I don't.

I took my fuel screw out and the coller just fell off. Good news, then I got some posible Very bad news. The screw threads were all mesed up and broke, so I could only screw it in so far til it got to them. Anyone know how to get another one or how to describe it to a dealer?

1st Gen Hobie - any Bosch diesel shop should be able to get you another fuel screw. I damaged the threads on my screw trying to remove the collar and got another one from the local Bosch diesel shop - the dealer wasn't able to help me.
