Strange Noise

I installed some EDM 1.5'S about 2 weeks ago. Every since then my truck has had a loping sound like a big-block V-8 with a lot of CAM in it. It sounds kind of COOL, but I don't think it should be doing this. I guess you could say it may be missing or skipping, I am just not sure. Other than that it is running fine. Do I have a problem with an injector, possibly? I have back tracked the install on the injectors, there is nothing loose. Everything looks good. I notice this engine sound more often when i am in DRIVE, sitting still holding the brakes. It has actually cut off twice, it got to jumping so bad, but as usual, it doesn't do it all the time. My lift pump is working fine & I installed a new VP44 when I put the EDM'S in. I am open for ideas.?????????????????????

I remember reading a post a while back about a guy with a 12 valve that was doing something similar, turned out to be something with the delivery valves. I don't know a lot about the newer trucks, so I'm probably talking out my butt. Keep this thread near the top on Monday, a lot of guys visit the site on company time but not on weekends.

Without hearing it, honestly cant say. One thing to do to test for a miss. Let the truck sit for a while (get the engine cold) Then when you start it go throught and feel the exhaust port on all the cylinders. Theyll be getting warm, but hopefully you could find one thats not so warm. That would be the bad injector. Of course lets hope you dont find that. It would just make it so easy :P. Problem comming in is that you changed 2 things at once so its really hard to tell. Could be as much as getting a lil paint into a line. Or a lil dirt around the injector seals. Or the vp44 could be bad out of the box. who knows

NO, BOB, I did only injectors. I didn't even have the comp yet. I got it from TIM about 2 weeks ago. I am going to run it for a little while longer. I should call my truck "MURPHY'S LAW", because it always happens to me. I have had several pm's with DONM. Based on what he told me, I must be getting an idle surge. I don't know enough about the characteristics of bigger injectors to know what they will do. DON said if I sent them back to him, he would check the injectors for me. I am going to have my truck repainted in a few weeks, so I may send them to him & let him check them. Do you have any other ideas? THANKS for checking? DANNY
