Still Won't Start

Yesterday I replaced my VP44 in my 99 dodge 2500 4x4 and I still can't get it to start. I was wondering, do I have to clear out the existing codes to get it to fire up?? I bled the hi pressure lines till I got a little fuel dripping out of the #3 line then I tightened them all up. Should I have waited untill fuel was comming out of more of the lines?? Any help will be appreciated??

Loosen up 3 of the easyest lines, i think its 134. Crank it over a few times till fuel is coming out of the three of them then tighten them up and it should fire over on next round or 2 of cranking. The codes wont effect the starting of it. It will run a little ruff at first but then it will smooth out.

i loosen 1,3,4 and crank it, when they start dripping i tighten 3,4 and crank it till it starts then i tighten 1 with it running. let them bleed pretty good.

Hold the throttle to the floor while you are cranking too,it should sputter a little then tighten the one/two that seem to have lotsa fuel.

Just FYI, I reinstalled the VP w/o bleeding the lines and it took over 60 seconds of cranking to get it started (I paused a few times). If you crack the lines the fuel will dribble out and it won't take more than 15 seconds of cranking. When it does start it will be VERY rough, but just let her go, she'll smooth out.

If you have a FP gauge you can see that your IP is getting fuel when it's cranking. This may sound dumb but you did plug the pump back in to the harness?

thanks for all the advice, I just wasn't letting it bleed long enough. I cracked lines 1,3,4 and bumped the starter for about 5 minutes, then I got the fuel. I replaced my lift pump with a holley un it also. Seems to be working great right now.
