I have a 2001 2500 CTD, the lift pump and injector pump went out. We replaced the lift pump with a stock one and replaced the injector pump. When the truck was started it would die immediatley. You could restart the truck and it would run fine. We got another injector pump and it would still do the same thing. So we took the stock lift pump off and replaced it with a Fass pump. All the fuel line has been replaced and it still continues do do the same thing. If the truck sits a long period of time it dies right after it starts. If it only sits 10 minutes or so it will run for about 30 seconds to a minute before it dies. When this problem started the transmission started acting up also. When the truck is at about 1400 rpms and going into overdrive it seems as if the converter is locking and unlocking. If you give it throttle and get the rpms up it will quit. I have been thinking it was a fuel problem but now im leaning more towards an electrical issue. We have not been able to get anycodes out of the truck. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Im at a loss here.

 

Perhaps the crank position sensor under the vp44 was damaged in replace process.
