Squeek on 01' QC Ram
Re:Squeek on 01' QC Ram
Turn the radio up and yell at the kids alot. Seems to work for me. ;D I used motorcycle chain lube. Seems to stick better and a little longer. Peace
Re:Squeek on 01' QC Ram
squeek is coming from steering column. lube it up. I have stopped the squeek on a 3500 and my 2500. besides how can you hear a little squeek in that loud ctd anyway? good luck.
Re:Squeek on 01' QC Ram
My 00 has it also. Comes and go's sometimes with bumps. At first I thought it was the front inner fenders but it still does it. I am gonna try the shift linkage with lithum grease hope that cures it. Thanks Tim
Re:Squeek on 01' QC Ram
One lube that works really well is BEL RAY chain lube for atv chains. that stuff sprays on in a foam and turns into a stick goo that flows for quite some time after that.
One other place on the quad cab door that causes a sqeek in the upperlock on the door. Wrap the steel bar on the roof with rubber electrical tape where the door lock rests so its nice and tight when the door is closed.
Good luck

Re:Squeek on 01' QC Ram
On another post on this site they said to take a punch and smack the sheet metal where the 3 pieces are spot welded. If you open the hood you will see the part I am talking about directly below the hinge spring for the hood. I am told these spot welds loosen up over time and by denting the sheet metal joints it will stop the sqweek. BTW I to have the sqweek, but have yet to try this fix.
Re:Squeek on 01' QC Ram
Lube under the hood on the steering shaft where the 2 pieces come together. This fixed it for me. Also use a silicone (no petroleum) spray on your door moldings.
