Something is leaking up front....

The other day I changed my front diff, brake, and PS fluids. Now the front end is coated with something. Also, it would appear my puke bottle is full as there is more oil and grim than usual. It was a rainy night I noticed it and was driving pretty hard. Also, I wiped everything down and nothing else has really shown up yet.

However, I may have over filled the front diff. I filled it up till fluid came out. I have read it isnt a bad thing to have some fluid come out of the fill hole, also that you should be able to stick your finger in and feel fluid ~ 1/4" down.

Any response would be appreciated.

Thanks everyone!

James

What type of fluid is leaking? When I saw this the first thing that came to mind was the vacuum pump seal.

Some of it was oil. Which led me to think since it was rainy and I was driving like a bat out of hell it just sprayed around.

Then I noticed a brown fluid on the steering stabilizer and some on the pumpkin.

So I got under with a rag and cleaned everything up, and have not seen anything since. I think I just overfilled it....

Any other areas to check?

I will update if anything else leaks.

Thank you

It would appear that it is not coming from just the vent, but also the seal might be bad at the lower part of the cover.

How good are these Mag-Hytec covers? They use a rubber gasket that doesn't need replacing right?

Anyone with experience with these wanna chime in?

Thanks

James

Check power steering pump

Mine had a lot of fluid up front and it was the power steering pump. Check your fluid. Mine is being changed today I hope.
