I have an 01 that I just got back from a 1000 mile trip towing my 31' TT. I have a BD single, Jammer Stage 2 nozzles, Edge Juice w/ Attitude and 4" MBRP exhaust. The trailer weighs in at 10,000 lbs. and the truck tows great, the only problem is that it smokes like a freight train. I have the Edge set @ level 2 sublevel 1 and have tried moving up and down on the levels. The smoke is a real bummer on a brand new trailer, black soot all the way down the passengers side. When I got home, I pulled the codes with my Hypertech and the only one that comes up is P1693. Any Ideas on how to stop the smoke would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the long winded post.

 

Welcome to DTR. Get a better set of injectors (or a stock set) turn the edge off, while towing. The jammers are good power for the buck, but are noted to be very dirty. A set of F1's will give you more power, less smoke and lower EGT's.

 

try some of the farm boys diesel injectors i have read and hear good things about them and they wont break your bank account either

You were on the money. I plugged in the tuner and the were 4 codes. It listed the P1693 followed by P0230 followed by P1693 followed by P0500.
