Mounting Fass Pump????

Spent the day reading instructions and trying to find a place along the frame to mount the bracket for the Fass pump. I cannot find a place where the bolts are long enough to go through the mounting bracket and all the way through the frame, even though they are 3-1/2" long bolts instead of the 3-1/4" specified in the instructions. I must be doing something wrong.

It took a while to figure out that you can't mount the bracket to the frame (as pictured) and still have the "T" facing the rear of the truck with the little hole "straight down"

Where are you guys mounting the pump?

I need to take the truck across country and I am running out of time!

Just put mine on yesterday, it is mounted on the bed cross member that is right above the drivers side front spring bolt. Just make sure the weep hole is down and the pump is pushing in the right direction. This is pump only, not the big filter set up.

That would make a difference!

(I think they need bigger pictures on the instructions.)

Thank You!

If gettin the old hose off the top of the fuel tank isn't the torture they use at git-mo, it should be.

At least I got the pump mounted and the old hose off and the new one on. It only took a day.

If I can still move tomorrow, I'll start on the engine side of the install.
I tried to pull the starter but I think the bolts were tighten on by Paul Bunyan.

Any tips on that end of the install ????

I'm gettin too old for this

You need 4" bolts to go through the frame. This is my old rear muffler bracket I used to mount the pump. I also used a small piece of plate with 2 holes drilled through on the outside of the frame so the frame didn't crush when the bolts are tightened. This configuratio puts the pump ports in the proper position and it is pretty quiet in operation. Glenn
