Exclamation S67 ME/DPF Delete= Smokes Alot- Anybody?

I have an 07 6.7 3500, auto trans. Have done the DPF delete & Smarty
S67ME14. Followed all the Smarty website guidelines for DPF delete. Great power, better fuel economy, but the thing smokes terribly at a light cruise in the upper gears around 12-1800 Rpm. I mean BADLY. I drive home every night through a residential area around 30-40 MPH & I can barely see behind the truck. No problem if I drive it hard(a little smoke when I get on it hard, but thats to be expected) Belches a bit on the highway at cruise for no explained reason as well but, I just cant drive through my neighbourhood every night like this. Doesnt matter what power setting, the smoke is always the same- Bad. I can can set it back to stock for a short bit before the regen thing happens & it doesnt seem to smoke at all. The new smarty download from July13? was supposed to cure this problem and it hasnt helped at all(and yes I have checked to see that the new version is displayed on the Smarty when I power it up) Anyone else had this problem? I am ready to put the truck back to stock. HELP!

I would check all your connections. Make sure you went by the book on the plugs! Go back through and make sure it has to be something simple.

How are you running your egr? Deleted, unplugged, stock? And your cooler?

I guess this make sense- Was told by the local diesel tech shop here that in the new ME/Revo software the EGR is inoperative & disconnectoion/removal was not required. If they are incorrect, how is the EGR affecting my problem if it is not operating?

If you have the "S" software, you don't need to do anything to the EGR. If you have the "ME" as stated, you need to.

Do as the instructions on the site says. If you can't then do as ramble bee said and unplug it as a band-aide.

I am using the Smarty 67 with the 14ME program installed, with the ERG delete and a 5" TB exhaust. My mileage is 4 MPG better since I have installed the Smarty 67. When I towed my 5er I have seen a 2 MPG improvement.
Hope this helps?
