Shuts down to idle
Shuts down to idle
A freind has a 1999, automatic. In the speed range of between 20 km and 40 km the engine will suddenly cut down to an idle, he pulls over shuts it off and restarts it than it will be good for a few hours, than does it again. It will run at 100 kmh all day and not give a problem. No codes. Does this sound like throttle postion sensor or ECM?
CHECK THE CODES FIRST. lots of things will cause the engine to derate or have the "dead pedal" a lot of times it is the vp44 but everyone is very quick to jump on that one. cycle the key and check for codes
just purchase a tps 561.00 us from dodge i was told to buy from a dealer due to issues with aftermarket tps or could be a fuel pump proublem if you have a stock fuel pump replace it it will cost you a vp44 injection pump p0222 is code for bad (tps) throttle position sensor
try this guy out I installed one of his apps and it was plug and play lot cheaper then Dodge but first check to make sure its the apps (TPS)
