i have a 2002 2500 and i ran out of fuel at 1/2 a tank. I thought it was the sending unit so i replaced it. It was still showing 1/2 tank. i wasnt sure how much fuel was in there so i filled it up and reset my trip. well at 1/2 a tank and 160mi later i ran out again. it shows full when i fill it up so im not sure as to what the problem is? Is the new sender bad? if so i am getting some horrible milage.

 

You may have a bad fuel pickup in the tank...

The hose that the pickup is attached to may have a cut or break in it.
